Hello all. I am fairly new to DLGuard and have a question about custom templates. (couldn't find this in the forum posts)

My product is over 700MB and have split it into 3 items so it will download faster for the client. (currently takes 30 minutes and I have tried several compression softwares to minimize the size)

The custom template is created and I put in the %%____%% for the different fields.

I understand %%downloads%% is the input field for the main downloads, but what about for the other 2.

In the DLGuard admin section, I have put the product number for the other 2 products in the "Optional Extra Product Settings" field.

Is there a code for the bonus products? Something like %%bonuses%%?

The reason I ask is my template explains the first main product and then has a download link, and then it explains the other 2 downloads and then has the 2 download links for that.

Is this possible, or is the %%downloads%% the only way to show all of them in one section?

Sorry if this is an easy question for most on here. I am new, researched the forum posts, did the Google search and still couldn't figure it out.

Thanks in advance!
Jeremy

Hi Jeremy,

The %%downloads%% tag does display all of the files all in one go.

What you could do is just put the explaination at the top of the downloads.

Or if you really want to split them up into different sections, you can do that by creating your own download links.

(I noticed you were having trouble with the download template saving it as HTML, so I'd recommend getting that sorted before you try this)

Firstly, just use the %%downloads%% tag to display all of your downloads automatically. Then view your download page live (ie. do a test buy, or Import yourself as a buyer and view the download page).

The copy all of the download link URL's from your current download page.

They'll look something like this:

http://example.com/dlg/downloadfile.php?r=12345&p=1
http://example.com/dlg/downloadfile.php?r=12345&p=1&b=2

...etc.

Now you can edit your download page template, and create your own download links. Use the original URLs', but replace the receipt number with: %%customerreceipt%%

So for example:

http://example.com/dlg/downloadfile.php?r=%%customerreceipt%%&p=1
http://example.com/dlg/downloadfile.php?r=%%customerreceipt%%&p=1&b=2

That'll allow you to create your own download page links, and give you full control over their display.

This is more advanced than just normal template editing, but it will give you the result you're after!

Let me know how you go!

cheers
Sam
