What is the best method to make DLGuard work with JROX Affiliate software JAM?
I've read too many bad things about Idev, so I decided to try out JAM by JROX : http://jam.jrox.com/
Seems like a good affiliate program with a LOT of features.
Sorry Sam, but after waiting 2.5 years for Dlguard Pro, I am moving on. |

Most affiliates program puts a tracking image on a page. In that case, you can utilize the software by adding it to the extra HTML section of the product page.
Let me know if this helps.

Here Is what I found:
1. Login to JAM. Go to Settings >> System Integration. Select
Integration Type: Image_Tag
Sale Amount: %%productprice%% (use %%paymentamount%% if you ever use coupons or put products on sale)
Transaction: %%customerreceipt%%
Click on Save Integration Settings.
2. Copy the code of the hidden image to your download page. The image code should now look like this:
<img border="0" src="http://www.YOURDOMAIN.COM/jamaffiliates/sale.php?amount=%%productprice%%&trans_id=%%customerreceipt%%" width="1" height="1">
In DLGuard, select Edit Product and paste this code in the field "Extra text/HTML code to be added to download page:".
3. Go back to JAM and select Settings >> System Settings. Select
Enable Duplicate Transaction Monitoring: Monitor IP and Transaction ID
Duplicate Transaction Monitor in Minutes: 2880
This will make sure that the commission is generated only once even if the download page is opened several times by the customer.
I am still testing this to make sure it is 100%.... I have a couple of other tweak ideas to check for fraud, but this is the method others are using.

I have setup the integration method for affiliates and while the sale does go through -- the affiliate commission was not generated.
I need to get this fixed, since all my download material is starting to advertise the affiliate program!
Under system settings, it asks how we want to track the commission:
Select Affiliate Tracking Methods
Cookie
IP Address or
Session
Which one of these should be checked? |

Does this have to be pasted into each individual product? OR is this pasted inside the MAIN Cart settings for DL Guard?
The reason I ask is, when I paste it just into the product Extra text/HTML code, no commissions get generated.
When I paste it into the individual product + the main cart settings, 2 commissions are generated for the same product.
But when I paste the code into the MAIN CART settings, only 1 commission is generated.
So... deduction tells me this goes into the MAIN CART settings, 1 time. Right?
I would hate to think this code gets plastered into each individual product HTML, because if you have 600 products in DL Guard, it's a pain to update them all.
So -- is the main cart settings the right place? I sure hope so.

When I place the image tag into the individual product HTML section, it doesn't work.
SEE my other messages above.
Three days and no answer.. I am in a dire situation. Would be nice to get an answer from somebody. |

Hi Bonnie,
I don't normally answer in this forum section, as it's more for DLGuard users giving tips to other DLGuard users, and I can't really support other people's tips.
But you're asking something pretty normal, so that's okay, I'm happy to help out - try pasting the tracking code into the "Extra HTML" box on your Cart Settings page.
If that's not tracking sales, then do a test sale, and then on the download page do a "view source", and check the HTML code for the tracking code and make sure it's displaying properly.
If it is displaying properly, you'll need to contact JAM and tell them the code is working, but not counting sales in JAM admin.
Or if you're not sure about the code, if you can open a support ticket and send me:
- DLGaurd login URL and details
- Receipt number for one of your Cart test sales you did
...then I'll check it out.
For questions like this, it's best to ask them in the General Discussion area, as I answer all of those once a day - I usually only scan this section to make sure there isn't any spam.
